On Twitter, comedian and actor Ricky Gervais reacted to a major success of his Golden Globe 2020 speech, which consists of jokes about famous celebrities.
The 2020 Golden Globe Awards was held in The Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills, California, hosted by Ricky Gervais. During his speech, the 58-year-old comedian caused controversy on social media with his uncomfortable jokes about Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, and the Chinese government.
As you can see right below, a fan page of Ricky Gervais named ‘Ricky Gervais Trivia’ reported that the video of his speech at the Golden Globe Awards has reached an estimated 300 million views on TV or social media.
However, Gervais showed his reaction to the news in another hilarious way and said that the year started off very well:
“The year started off so well.”
A fan joked:
“Imagine that…Ricky Gervais outliving Gandhi statues”
“Tom Hanks’ face was gold. Fuck them all. Ricky was brilliant.”
