Actor and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen congratulated his Borat 2 co-star Maria Bakalova for winning the 2021 Critics Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actress on his Twitter page.
Maria Bakalova reached a great milestone on Sunday. The breakout star of Borat Subsequent Moviefilm took home the award for Best Supporting Actress at this year’s Critics’ Choice Awards and impressed fans with her speech.
On Sunday, Sacha Baron Cohen took to Twitter to celebrate Maria Bakalova for her success. Besides his celebration, Cohen joked about the Rudy Giuliani scene of the actress.
As you might know, Maria Bakalova played a journalist interviewing Giuliani in a scene causing great controversy and said that she was afraid because Rudy is a lawyer, and he is the president’s lawyer. I am not an American and don’t know about American politics.
Here’s what Sacha Baron Cohen wrote:
“Congratulations @MariaBakalova96 on your #CriticsChoice award for the courage, grace, and joy you brought to Borat’s Tutar! Maybe this makes up for having to be alone in a room with Rudy Giuliani?!”
