Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am was interviewed by Billboard and shared his thoughts about Latin star Shakira after revealing their new studio album, ‘Translation,’ which was released via Epic Records.
Black Eyed Peas has unveiled the cover art of their new album that shows cartoon versions of will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo, and also dropped the song list including the amazing collaboration with the biggest names of Latin music such as Shakira, Nicky Jam, Maluma, and Becky G.
Black Eyed Peas collaborated with Shakira on their new album ‘Girl Like Me.’ Black Eyed Peas and Shakira had recently come together for the song named ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ in 2005.
When the interviewer asked will.i.am that how was working with Colombian pop star Shakira, he said he was very inspired by her musical talent and praised her by saying that she is the definition of music:
“Will.i.am I was so inspired. (She was like,] ‘Did you get my notes?’ ‘I got your notes.’ ‘OK. Let’s begin. Note No. 1: When you say that word, can you swing that back a little bit? When I say, ‘Girl like me,’ the tail end of the reverb, can you make it just a little bit louder?’
This girl is the definition of music. I’ve worked with everybody — Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson. I’ve never experienced that detail. And she conducts the session like she’s teaching!”
Following his comments, the 43-year-old singer hopped to her Instagram page to share will.i.am’s sweet thoughts and said that working with him is also a pleasure. She mentioned that the vision, talent, and passion of Black Eyed Peas make this collaboration an absolute highlight in her career.
Here’s what Shakira captioned:
“Will, it was also a pleasure to work with you guys!! The story behind this song, your vision, your talent, and passion make this experience an absolute highlight in my career!!”
