Skylar Grey, who is an American singer and songwriter, took Instagram to share how she burst with pride after the praising words she heard from a veteran name Eminem and she happily shared those moments with her followers on her Instagram account.
Although Skylar Grey chose to stay humble about her talent for singing and songwriting, her music partner Eminem praised her talent in a radio show where he described her as one of the most talented musicians he has ever worked with.
Skylar Grey worked with her long-term friend Eminem in his song ‘Black Magic’ in the newly released ‘Music To Be Murdered By – Side B (Deluxe)‘ album and she shared her happiness after Eminem, whom she admires very much, showed his respect to Grey on the radio show.
Here’s what Eminem said about Grey on the radio:
“I know I tell her this all the time but I had the privilege of working around a lot of f****** talent. It still gets me. Skylar is one of the- she’s definitely-
she has to be, I don’t how to say this, top five of the most talented people I’ve ever worked with. But I’ve worked with so many talented people.
The rate of speed that she works at A) being able to write it B) being able to sing it, and to sing it that powerful! She is an amazing talent.”
The 34-year-old singer, described the feeling as the most fulfilling one although she felt a little embarrassed for reposting it. She explained that the words of a legend like Eminem was more important to her than winning a Grammy and she didn’t need any trophies.
Here’s the caption of Skylar Grey:
“I am extremely humbled by the words mister Mathers speaks in the recent interview he did with @shade45. Part of me is embarrassed for reposting this (swipe right to listen), because it’s such a flex and that’s not usually my style! 😝
But a bigger part of me wants to scream at the top of my lungs, “I DID IT!” There is no more feeling more fulfilling than for the people you admire most to show you this kind of respect… to me THIS is ‘making it,’
THIS is success in the music industry… and THIS is my Grammy. I don’t need any trophies… the rap god has given me something MUCH more valuable. And I feel so incredibly blessed and grateful. 🤍 It still gets me.”
