Stephen King Slams Texas Abortion Law With “Taliban” Reference

The enactment of the abortion ban in the US State of Texas caused controversy. US President Joe Biden said the law, which he described as “extreme”, “sensationally” violated women’s constitutional rights. Biden said the administration would “protect and defend” the right to abortion.

So why has this law created so much controversy? The law, which went into effect on Wednesday, September 1 in Texas, prohibits abortions for women from the moment the embryo’s heartbeat is heard, that is, from about the sixth week of pregnancy. Opponents of the law point out that many women do not even realize that they are pregnant during this time. The law also makes no exceptions for women who become pregnant after rape or incest. Abortion is allowed during this period only if the health of the pregnant woman is in danger.

Horror novelist Stephen King has slammed the abortion ban law enacted in the state of Texas on his Twitter account and criticized the officials who decided this with the Taliban which refers to itself as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Here’s what Stephen King tweeted:

“The Taliban would love the Texas abortion law.”
