Atlanta-based rapper T.I. will star in a CBS All Access show called ‘Twenty Four Seven’ and mentioned the partnership of the series with 50 Cent.
Twenty Four Seven is based on the book titled Notorious C.O.P.: The Inside Story of the Tupac, Biggie, and Jam Master Jay Investigations from NYPD’s First ‘Hip-Hop Cop’ by Derrick Parker and Matt Diehl.
The book is based on Parker who will be played by T.I. He worked on some of the biggest criminal cases in rap history, from the shooting at Club New York to the first shooting of Tupac Shakur.
During a recent interview with Complex, the rapper has shared his thoughts about the partnership with 50 Cent and revealed the most exciting thing for viewers to see. T.I. showed how ambitious he is for this project by saying that he wants to not just recreate that energy, but dominate that space.
Here’s what he said:
“Right now, man, we’re in the process of developing the script, and I think that comes first and foremost before any casting or anything else. We’ve got to make sure the script is as tight as we want it.
We’re also interviewing showrunners to join forces with us and handle the day-to-day and execute the vision of the project. I think there hasn’t been a procedural show dedicated to our culture since New York Undercover.
A real procedural show, that deals with matters within the community, within the culture, that speaks from our voices and tells stories that are seen through our eyes. I think New York Undercover is the last time we saw that. We want to not just recreate that energy, but dominate that space.”
The 40-year-old rapper also talked about trolling each other on social media. He said:
“Hell yeah, we have. And his cap ass says he’s going to do it. He ain’t picking no date, though. His badass ain’t said when.”
