The shooting of the Matrix 4, which was planned to be released earlier, was suspended for a while due to the pandemic. New release date is on April 1, 2022.
Although the actors who recently started shooting again preferred to talk very little about the film, Emmy award winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, one of the stars of the film, shared his opinion about the script and thoughts on the similarities between the original three Matrix films and the Matrix 4.
In the Matrix 4, the director of the first half of the trilogy, Lana Wachowski, is back. This is one of the reasons Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss accepted to play the same role after many years.
All we know about the film so far, as Reeves mentioned before, is that the story is beautiful, it is a love story, and it takes place after the Revolutions in 2003.
Although these little clues raise questions in our minds, Abdul-Mateen has spoken implicitly about the script. He did not reveal anything about the character or the story, but he explained that the new story will deliver both new things that the film’s fans have been waiting for, and will have connection with the old movies.
Here’s what he said:
“My reaction to the script [was], ‘Wow, people are really gonna like this. I like this. People are really gonna like this.’ It’s different and it’s the same, you know, at the same time. It’s a really, really very intelligent blend of what we want and what we may not know that we want. “
That’s all the information about the movie for now, but it looks like the movie will come back very strongly and will be a success.
