The New Pope’s John Malkovich Explains What He Thinks On His New Role In ‘Space Force’

During a recent interview with ‘GQ,’ legendary Hollywood actor John Malkovich talked about his new project, Space Force, and has shared his thoughts about his new character in the new Netflix series.

Space Force is a comedy space series that aired on Netflix as of May 29, 2020. The first season of the series consists of 10 episodes and it includes successful actors such as Steve Carell (Mark Naird), Ben Schwartz (F. Tony Scarapiducci), John Malkovich (Dr. Adrian Mallory).

When the interviewer asked what appealed to him about the character of Dr. Adrian Mallory, the 66-year-old actor answered the question in a reasonable way and said that he did not look at the characters in this way, loved all the characters of the new series.

Here’s what Malkovich said:

“I don’t normally look at things that way. ‘What’s my character? What’s my line?’ I liked the whole thing and I liked all the characters and because it looked like there were going to be eight, 10, 12 very interesting characters. That was good enough for me. I liked that character, but I liked them all.”

On the other hand, when the interviewer wondered if there any other scientists, fictional or real life, that he looked to for inspiration, he stated:

“Not really. The only astrophysicist I ever really followed much was Ernesto Sabato but I followed him because he was a great novelist, not for his work in astrophysics. It’s a little bit above my pay grade.”
