The Weeknd Explains Why ‘After Hours’ Is His Most Perfect Album

The Grammy Award-winning, Diamond-certified Canadian singer, The Weeknd, took the music industry by storm with his fourth studio album ‘After Hours’ released on March 20, 2020.
It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, selling 444k copies in its first week. It also won the title of the best-selling album in the first week of 2020. Three singles from the album, ‘Heartless,’ ‘Blinding Lights,’ and ‘After Hours’ were released.
Abel, who always prioritizes creativity and innovation, said that he always wanted to do and show what he did in this album in all the works in his career, but now he can achieve this more easily because his opportunities are increased. He brought a new vision to the music video sector with the music videos he made.
Here’s what he said:
“I’ve always tried to do what I do with After Hours with every record I’ve ever done. I just didn’t have the resources or the budget or the time to make them as cohesive and as singular as After Hours was visually.”
As a result of all this hard work, it has been an album that has been nominated for the 2021 Grammy Awards in many categories.
Here’s what he said:
“It might not be my best album. It might not be what people gravitate towards the most in the future. Hopefully, it is. But to me, it’s definitely my most perfect album. I could go back and listen to it and be like, ‘I’ve got no notes for this, really.”
