Grammy-winning R&B singer and performer The Weeknd expressed his admiration for a song that entered the Billboard charts again years later and was happy to see it at the top of the charts.
The Weeknd is an artist we are used to seeing at the top of the music charts. Although his success made him very happy, it does not prevent him from concealing his admiration for another band. This band is Fleetwood Mac and their hit ‘Dreams.’
The song Dreams was part of the eleventh studio album titled ‘Rumours’ of the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released by Warner Bros Records on February 4, 1977. The song went viral, thanks to a TikTok video. This renewed interest around ‘Dreams’ is all thanks to a lip-synching, cranberry juice-drinking skateboarder named Nathan Apodaca, as known as ‘@420doggface208,’ on TikTok.
Fleetwood Mac’s iconic album ‘Rumours,’ which originally featured ‘Dreams,’ reached the top at the charts in 1977, hitting No. 1 on the Billboard 200. After this video went viral, the song itself reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart once again.
Abel, as we know him as The Weeknd, took to Twitter and said that the success of Fleetwood Mac made him so happy after seeing the song on the charts.
Here’s what he said:
“Fleetwood Mac charting makes me so happy…”
