Tinashe Says She’s Happy Being An Independent Artist Although She Misses Feeling Like Part Of ‘The Machine’

R&B singer Tinashe reflected on the effects of her fourth studio album titled ‘Songs for You’ as she celebrates one-year anniversary of the album on her official Instagram page.

‘Songs for You’ is the fourth studio album released independently by Tinashe’s own record label, Tinashe Music Inc, on November 21, 2019. Also, the album is her first project since leaving RCA Records in February 2019.

The 27-year-old R&B singer took to Instagram to share her thoughts about the one-year anniversary and revealed how she felt being an independent artist.

Tinashe began her statement by saying that the album ‘Songs for You’ was of great importance to her. The singer thanked her fans for always supporting her.

She continued and said she is so happy being an independent artist although she misses feeling like part of ‘the machine.’ However, she added that standing on her own feet in the music industry made her unbearably happy. Tinashe also showed how she works by saying that every move she makes in life is only because she follows her heart and instincts.

Here’s what she stated:

“Today we celebrate one year of Songs For You ❤️❤️❤️❤️ my first album as an independent artist!

This album means way more to me than y’all will ever know. Thank you for allowing me to be vulnerable and spill out my lil human ass heart. I’m soooo thankful for your love as well as everything I have learned this year.

Being independent is noooot easy, especially after being at a major label for almost a decade. Sometimes I miss feeling like part of the “machine 💰 “ … but navigating the industry on my own terms has made me insufferably happy. &every move I make in life is because I simply followed my heart and gut instincts. I guess That’s just how I operate .

Eternally grateful. All these songs for you, baby”
