Tom Hanks Makes Mention Of ‘Forest Gump’ And Reveals An Unknown Secret

Recently, Tom Hanks commented on his blockbuster movie, Forrest Gump. After it was released in 1994, Forrest Gump became a cult movie over time, which people advice each other to watch and be inspired.

Shortly, it is about a boy who has a disability in learning things but has enormous talent as an athlete. The film’s plot passes between the ’50s and ’70s.

He inspires people without knowing it, he meets with people who are very important historically and he is unaware that what he does unknowingly has created important consequences.

After many years, Hanks opened up about the hardships they faced while filming Forrest Gump. He explained some of the iconic scenes were hard to take because of the low budget of the production. But the scenes were very important for the director and they need to take it. So, Hanks and the director paid out of their pockets.

One of the scenes was when Gump runs across the country. This scene became a classic one for the film.

Here’s what Tom Hank’s said:

“And he said ‘Well, this run is going to cost X amount of dollars.’ And it wasn’t cheap. And I said ‘OK’. He said, ‘You and I are going to split that amount, and we’re going to give it back (to Paramount). We’ll give you the money back, but you guys (Paramount) are going to have to share the profits a little bit more.’ Which the studio said ‘Fabulous, great. OK.’ And it was good for us, too.”

Hanks’s also mentioned another scene which had to be taken under bad weather conditions. The production told them that they didn’t have insurance if they got sick.

Here’s what Tom Hank’s said:

“They said ‘The weather is such that we can’t get the insurance coverage on it,’ the studio said, ‘So you guys can’t shoot.’ And Bob and I said, ‘We’ll cover the insurance.’ And we did.”

In the long run, Tom Hanks earned $65 million and the film became a classic.
