TV’s Most Decorated Actor And UP Actor Ed Asner Has Died At 91

Ed Asner, best known for being one of TV’s most decorated actors, has died aged 91. The sad news was announced by his family on his official Twitter page.
In a statement shared by his family, Ed Asner passed away peacefully on August 29. No cause of death has yet been revealed.
Here’s the statement:
“We are sorry to say that our beloved patriarch passed away this morning peacefully. Words cannot express the sadness we feel. With a kiss on your head- Goodnight dad. We love you.”
Edward David Asner, who was born in Kansas City, Missouri, began his acting career in college, participating in a number of shows at the University of Chicago. He went to New York to pursue a career in acting after serving in the US Army’s Signal Corps in the early 1950s, with theatre being an early love.
He had a long career as a voice actor, best known for his portrayal of grumpy Carl Fredricksen in Pixar’s Up, as well as a number of TV roles, including J. Jonah Jameson in the 1990s Spider-Man series, Hoggish Greedly in Captain Planet And The Planeteers, Ed Wuncler on The Boondocks, and a Jedi master in a Star Wars video game.
