Black Eyed Peas is trying to gain their huge fame in the late 2000s after the group lost an important member, Fergie, and they have been away from popularity for years.
Fergie was not the original singer of Black Eyed Peas but she was one of the effective members of the group. The group had released with Fergie for some of the biggest hits, including ‘My Humps’ and ‘I Gotta Feeling.’ Then, Fergie left Black Eyed Peas in 2017, and the reason for this has always been an uncertainty.
Black Eyed Peas Will.i.am, Taboo and Apl.de.ap spoke in a recent interview with Billboard, Will.i.am explained the real reason why Fergie left the group. The 45-year-old singer said that she left BEP to focus her motherhood issues and spent time with her son, Axl.
Here’s what he said:
“That’s a hard job, and that’s what she really wants to do and we’re here for her, and she knows how to contact us for a retreat or a breakaway.”
“It’s really the way Fergie designed it, so we’re respecting her design. We love Fergie, and we don’t want anything but awesomeness for her.”
Apl.de.ap. also said that she left the group in an amicable way, and the group members still have a good friendship with her. He said:
“Fergie is our sister. So even with these small connections, she’s always going to be our sister. But unfortunately, our schedule is displaced by [her] wanting to be a great mom, and she wants to focus on that. And like Will said, we support her 100%”
