One of the most important film moments that millions of Willy Wonka and Chocolate Factory fans have remembered is Violet Beauregarde’s silly chewing on a piece of gum for three meals. Then, when he kicked sweet, he rolled into a blueberry and rolled by the singing Oompa Loompas to get bored.
Unfortunately, child actor Denise Nickerson, who played Violet in the 1971 adaptation of writer Roald Dahl’s novel, died on Wednesday at the age of 62. According to reports, Nickerson suffered a stroke last year and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Since then, his family has shared updates on his condition, hoping that Nickerson will recover. As medical bills were accumulated, even Nickerson’s family asked for help from sources of mass funding.
