Writer Thomas Schnauz Reacts To Report That ‘Breaking Bad’ Inspired Former Biotech Researcher To Seek Poisons

Ishtiaq Ali Saaem, a 37-year-old former biotech researcher from Allentown, Pennsylvania, admitted that he lied to federal authorities for buying castor beans, the source of ricin.

Prosecutors reported that after watching ‘Breaking Bad,’ Saaem became interested in taking ricin and convallatoxin, a poison found in lily plants in the valley. In the end, he faces up to 20 years in prison at sentencing scheduled for Aug. 18.

However, Breaking Bad and its prequel Better Call Saul producer and writer, Thomas Schnauz reacted to the report that BB inspired former biotech researchers to seek poison.

In his tweet, he supported the character of the series and said that it worked out so well for Walt and Jesse.

Here’s what Thoams Schnauz said:

“Because that worked out so well for Walt & Jesse. C’mon, you dummies.”
