On Sunday night, Zendaya made history as the youngest actress to win an Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Rue in the HBO’s Euphoria and revealed what she thought about winning the award.

Zendaya competed for the Emmy award with Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh, Ozark’s Laura Linney, The Crown’s Olivia Colman, and The Morning Show’s Jennifer Aniston, and eventually made history as the youngest actress.

During Emmy’s virtual backstage interview, She said she was naturally very happy to be a nominee in this category. She couldn’t hide her excitement during the interview.

Here’s what Zendaya stated:

“Every single woman in that category I obviously admire immensely. Just to be mentioned in the category at all was something — and just to have them support me really filled my heart.”

She admitted:

“I don’t usually cry. I got through it without letting it take over completely. It was obviously a very emotional moment and I still can’t believe it myself — it’s pretty crazy.”
